The Subaru XV e-Boxer Hybrid is powered by a horizontally-opposed Boxer 2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine and a Permanent Magnet AC synchronous motor to create the Hybrid drivetrain. The petrol powertrain is paired with Subarus Lineartronic CVT transmission.

One area where Subaru hasnt scrimped, though, is safety, with the XV Hybrid scoring the brands EyeSight Driver Assist system that incorporates adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, autonomous emergency braking, lead vehicle start alert (which lets you know if the vehicle in front has moved off), and brake light recognition. There are plenty of yielding surfaces, while the faux carbon-weave accents arent overdone. They look good and enhance the sporty vibe inside. Theres a solidity to the cabin thats hard not to be impressed by.
